Hi Everyone.
Max is now 15 weeks
and we have just started going on our first walks together, he is wonderful on the lead but when we meet other dogs on our walks he barks and growls and then backs away. At home he never barks and only growls when playing tug o war!
It was suggested by a dog trainer I met at the park that I don't reassure him when he is doing this but say a firm 'NO' which I have tried but no progress as yet.
We have puppy training and socialisation starting in April but wanted to get others advice as I don't want Max going through this everytime we meet a dog and just want to see him enjoy his walks!
The breeder I got him from had both of his parents and another dog aswell as cats and I got him at 12 weeks.
Any suggestions anyone has would be brilliant! I'm willing to try anything!
