Eastern Airlines was the number one competitor of Delta Airlines, and was in business for 63 years. We went out of business in 1991.

We served mostly the east coast, initially, but also flew to Canada, Europe, Mexico, the Virgin Islands, and all fifty of the United States. We were the dominate carrier between JFK/LGA and MIA, via ATL.
I was hired by EAL after graduation from college, and believe it or not, was not familiar with Delta Airlines. Back then, Delta was mostly a southern airlines. In the northeast, we had Eastern, Alleghany, Piedmont, and TWA. Eastern had the largest fleet with the most routes.
One of our slogan was "The Wings of Man."
We were the first official airline of Disney World
