...I am so sorry, so very sorry. I can really relate here, sadly, bc I've been in your shoes. My Mom got cancer when I was 19 (she was 42) - I also cared for her over the time she died. She died when I was 21 (she was 44) - and what she went through during that time was excruciating. I am now 42, and still
after all this time, I cannot believe what I saw a human being go through with cancer. Unless you've been there, you can't explain it to someone else.

{btw, they have tried morphine, I assume? that's usually what they use for advanced cancer. and does he have a central line in, so they can give it IV?}
