. These poor animals. And this poor pony...that is incredibly painful for them and can cause permanent damage further up -- I hope the equine vets can save him...there are probably things that can be done.
It sounds like while this person may have had good intentions, it got way out of hand, and ended up hurting the animals. Very sad. Wish she would've reached out sooner. Hopefully, the animals will all find forever homes, and this person will learn to not do this again. We hear about this a lot here to (in AZ) bc of the warm weather...ie, people want to start a "shelter" - and they don't realize what they're getting into
