It's funny you mentioned if they dream because I recently witness Magnus "dreaming" about something. I was taking a nap on the couch, he was sleeping on the floor right below and I started hearing some muffled barking and growling.
I had him on Iams (yes.. I know I know...) and currently in the process of switching him over to "Wellness Super5Mix Just for Puppy Food". He seems to like it. Actually, I went to their website and requested a sample since I didn't want to buy a whole bag and then find out he doesn't like it. Maybe that's something you could try to see which kibble yours would like?
And I totally understand about being in a constant panic mode. I lost over 10 lbs since I had my puppy b/c I was constantly worried over every little thing. One of my friends joked and said I was obsessed with him. LOL (It's probably true.. -_-; )
