Animal Smiley 019 For all of you with dogs with LP

Syd was diagnosed with LP about 6 months ago. The vet did not want to even think about surgery at this time, but she recomended that we start giving her a daily dose of Glucosamine and doing 20 minutes of water therapy a week to strengthen the muscles around her knees. We are also supposed to keep her from jumping (yeah right).

This all seemed to be going well until about a month or so ago. She has started waking up in the morning very stiff and sore. She is fine once she gets moving...but for about the first 1/2 hour she arches her back and can't put her full weight on her back legs.

I'm worried. She has a vet appointment coming up at the begining of the new year so I'll ask the vet about it then. But in the meantime...have any of you experienced this? She acts like a arthritic old woman and she in only just 1-year-old. I bought her a memory foam matress for her crate to try to help take some of the pressure off of her joints. But I can't tell if it is helping yet or not.
