Don't feel bad, I'll bet 90% of us thought the same thing until we learned more about breeding. I'm glad you asked the question, others will learn from the comments posted. I think if you really want to protect you're little girl, you will get her spayed, I've read about so many accidental pregnancies, and all it takes is a few seconds. There are several health advantages in spaying too.
