Standard is not to exceed 7 pounds, so if you were a breeder, you'd want to choose a dog under this weight, but yorkies come in all sizes. I agree with the other posters it depends on their structure, a dog with a longer frame, and longer legs will need more weight than a shorter dog. The vet was able to tell me a good weight for Joey, and I try to keep him in that range. Usually treats are what causes weight issues, and it sounds like you are giving plenty of exercise. Joey's vet recommended adding frozen green beans (thawed) to his diet, when Joey had to lose some weight. The green beans fill them up without adding too many calories, and Joey loves them.
