Which rescue did you adopt your male from? Most rescues would prefer if you are not able to continue to keep a previous rescue of theirs to know about this...they may want to have you surrender back to them so, that they can oversee the replacement.
Please contact your rescue group before attempting to place on your own if you do not have the time & resources to interview and do a home check of your applicants.
