He needs to be confined to one area when you are not with 100% of your attention to him. I start pee pad training my pups before they go to their new homes around 12 weeks. Even then, if given too much space hey will have accidents.

Also, babies have tiny bladders and are gonna potty ALOT. After eating, after playing, after sleeping, after EVERYTHING. If he is only 6-7 weeks old its going to take awhile. Lots of work and patience on your end and remember, he will not know the difference, he is just a baby, and there will be LOTS of mistakes.
