He's going to be on Metacam an anti-inflammatory and pain medication for 10 days, then needs to go back in for a check up at that time. I also have to keep him confined for 14 days so he doesn't aggravate his injury further. I'm hoping it turns out to be a pulled muscle and nothing more. After he got back home, he was being his normal self again, probably because of his injections. Thank you all for you help and warm wishes, it really helped ease my nerves.
P.S Ellie May, I was on edge today being that Gibson was sick and took your response wrong. I understand what you meant, and apologize for jumping to conclusions. |
Glad Gibson, is doing well, and I hope it's just a pulled muscle too. You'll find Ellie May is one of the most helpful people here on Yorkietalk.
My son's dog had such a similar thing, and at first they thought it was back problems. The pain was really on and off, but they finally diagnosed it as pancreatitis, after about 6 months of tests. I think it may be helpful to keep a food chart, and write down any symptoms your dog experiences each day, and how much food and water he's drinking, It's so much easier to give your vet a clear picture of what the dog is experiencing, if you have kept notes. Best of luck!
