Well, I had spoken to Sylvia over several days to see if there was anything she could do on her end, and she said no. She had too many as it were at her property and the rescue she worked with had four at a vets office and a boarding kennel had five. Lela was shy, so she was considered unadoptable by the shelter! Neither the boarding kennel nor the vets office wanted her. They don't train difficult dogs, Sylvia said.

I have to ask myself, all these groups that come out of the woodwork, screaming foul when someone like Michaelf Vick dog fights, and rescues his dogs. Trained fighting dogs that needs months of rehabiliation! And they just turn a blind eye to the suffering of shy dogs in shelters? I think dogs know when they've landed in an Auschwitz for animals! This was a high level kill shelter.

YOU DON'T HEAR A PEEP OUT OF THOSE GROUPS!

I'd tried calling the shelter over the four days previously to see if I could work out with animal control an arrangement for me to get the dog. I left messages and never got an answer, nor did I get anyone to pick up the phone until today. And that is when I got the news that he'd put her down along with four other dogs the shelter considers unadoptable.

I was upset to say the least.
