I think anyone who is looking to buy a Yorkshire Terrier needs to invest in a little book called Yorkhire Terrier For Dummies. You need to make sure that the breeder is just as concerned about who you are as you are about him/her. Don't ignore the red flags. When you do..you end up in a situation like this. And I believe every breeder needs to be skilled and knowledgable. A reputable breeder will make deliberate choices, based on dispositon, health and genetic history of the dogs they intend to mate...back yard breeders don't give this much thought. A reputable breeder should never produce more puppies than they can sell..they should have a waiting list of approved homes. Take your time and be smart and there is always rescue..Peace~
