I watched "The Dog Whisperer" the other day and Caesar addressed this very issue. Put your dog's harness and leash on him. Then, have a stranger to your dog come to the door. Have him ring the doorbell and knock. When you let him in, pull back on your dog's leash. Keep doing this until he gets the idea and praise him when he does. It may take several times, but it worked on the show. They did it over and over and over again.

Have seen this, too. I also have two little old ladies that I have to put behind a gate when we have company. Cocoa is cranky with strangers and Rosie wants to protect her. Not a good mix. Good luck. Sorry this had to happen to you. ~Joanne~
