Sydney was afraid of the litter box, too. She would actually start to quiver if I put her in it. I did the same thing. I put the wee wee pads on the floor and she got use to using them. After she was pretty good about that, one night, I put her pad inside a litter box. She sleeps with me in bed. On her own, she crawled down her steps to the floor and got into the litter box, which I put close to the steps. From then on, she's been using the box. She's nine months now. She was eight when she finally started using it on her own.
