Jax is almost nine months and is so
unsocial with other dogs. He wants almost nothing to do with them and acts so scared around them. We were definitely planning on socializing him once he was fully vaccinated but he was sick with a URI (among other things
) for several months so we chose to keep him away from other dogs.
Now he is in obedience training and we brought him to a "puppy social hour" today. After a little butt sniffing he wanted nothing to do with with the other puppies there. Even when one would try to paw him or sniff him he would jump back and cower between our legs. He is just like a little wallflower.
I just do not get it because he LOVES people!
Has anyone else had this problem and had their babies get over it or are we doomed because we have waited too long to begin socialization?
