I always worked with mine so I just fed twice a day and still do. It works for us and we can predict their poop schedule. Mine take crappers twice a day, on schedule.
I feel home cooked for the most part, but I've used Merrick and Wellness foods and they still were twice-a-day poopers.
you can add a little nonfat plain yogurt (no artificial sweeteners) (1 tbsp or so) and maybe some veggies to the mix of dog food and see if that perks your dog up into eating more.
I prefer to feed on a schedule because it works with our schedule and I like to know who is crapping when. I dont like little surprises
