I'm sorry to hear that. It really breaks your heart to see them sick.

Has she been around any other dogs in the last month? Or has she possibly been exposed to cold and damp air at night so that she gets chilled and can't get warm?

These are the only two questions I can think of. Your vet said she could have caught it from another dog, but you didn't say if she'd been around any others...
