I always pay attention to the dryer. I would never go to bed or leave the house with the dryer running. Years ago my neighbor went to work with her dryer running and her 10 year old daughter alone home sick from school. The little girl comes running to my house saying there was smoke in the house and the fire alarms were blaring. I called the fire dept. and ran outside. The house was an old 100 year plus farmhouse. I looked at the house and it seemed like it was breathing. The walls were expanding and retracting. All of a sudden windows started exploding and the fire jumped to the outside of the house and the whole house was consumed in flames. The house burnt to the ground with their pets still inside. We just thanked god the little girl was able to get out. That happened about 30 years ago but I have never forgotten that a dryer caused so much destruction.
