Hello! Yep.. my Yorkie is larger at 12lbs but he still wears a harness. His neck is pretty sensitive. I like the Puppia harnesses (Amazon.com: Puppia Soft Dog Harness (Mesh) Red...Amazon.com: Puppia Soft Dog Harness (Mesh) Red... ) and YT member chattiesmom makes great silk step in harnesses (you can find her in the Yorkie products for sale section).

Petsmart and Petco sell ones similar to the Puppia's as well.

I also agree with poster above... try to get him used to the harness/leash in the house first. Let him drag it, walk around with it, etc. Then do the same outside. Bring a favorite toy or favorite treat to encourage him to walk. I think with some practice and patience (and calm and assertiveness! ) he should get the hang of it.
