Kate, I don't want to scare you but, it is
extremely dangerous having her travel on your lap. If there is an accident the airbag will/could depending on her postion kill her. If you can not invest in a lookout seat for the backseat you could make your own by staking pillows up so she could look out and be entertained. You then would hook her to the backseat seatbelts so in the event of an accident she would not go flying around in the car. This would also protect her when you stop for gas and the car door opens and she couldn't jump out!
