I hope you have a harness on him. Yorkies should only wear a harness bc they can get a collapsed trachea. I started using a leash on Pixie in the house first bc she felt more secure. I would use it walking around from room to room and then eventually we did around the yard. I would use a treat and praise her when she was walking on the leash. Good luck
