It was such a long day waiting & we were so excited to pick her up that we didn't think to ask many questions & they didn't tell us anything about what to expect. Never even saw the vet. Only assistants. Should they have given us anything for pain? Is there anything we can give her to make her more comfortable? She ate & drank a little but can't seem to get comfortable & looks so sad. She hasn't gone potty yet either. Any advice anyone has would be greatly appreciated. I know I won't sleep at all tonight. |
She should have been to potty by now. Perhaps they took her at the vet's though. She will spend a fairly uncomfortable night and if you're like me, you probably will spend a fairly uncomfortable night, too. My vet raises little yorkies and she said I could give her a baby aspirin if she needed anything, but I never gave her one. We camped out on the floor that night. I was afraid for her to be on a bed and possibly jump down. She just slowly got better over the next couple of days. My vet said it is OK for her to lick the incision, because she had internal stitches. Is that what yours has? I could feel the little stitch on the outside sticking out and it just recently dissolved.
