Trust me when I tell you that I know how excited you must be and you want this baby home asap. Just telling you from my experience. I got a puppy at around 8 or 9 wks old and it was NOT ready to be seperated from it's mom yet and it cried for a whole week. I got one at 12 weeks and it adjusted within 24 hrs and no crying or whimpering at all.
Congratulations on your new baby!
I dont know why the breeder would be suggesting taking the yorkie home so young?

I dont think this will be a 3.5 lb yorkie. Usually by 8-12 weeks is a better "guesstimate" At 12 weeks you double the weight and that is an estimate. I got my male yorkie at 12 weeks old and he weighed 24 oz= 1 lb 8 oz. If your puppy is weighing 13 oz by 7 wks old then that might end up a small dog under 4 lbs. This is only an estimate though.
