I just got a new pup, a little girl, and like you I just loved my boy that I've had for almost two years this summer. I was really worried they would not get along (as if someone was going, it would NOT be Rocky). It has worked out great! Sure, he gets annoyed by her at times and wants to be left alone. She gets annoyed by him always trying to steal her chewies and tells him off sometimes. Overall, it really works great. They can play and have fun and keep each other company. This pair seemed to hit it off - not sure that happens every time but if you're diligent with watching them you will tell them that you are the boss and you decide who is part of the family or not.
