It depends on how old he is...
I have a male/female combination. They were neutered when they each got to be 5 months old. He doesn't mark, and he still squats like his Mommy taught him. Humping is more of a "dominence" thing ... he doesn't bother her (or us!), but he has a favorite bed that catches all kinds of hell
. Other than that, we're all safe
They get along fine. He THINKS he's the alpha dog (we have 4 dogs total in the household), but that's only because she
lets him think that. If he tries to do something she really doesn't like, she reads him the riot act and then everyone knows who's REALLY in control
