mojo, you asked about good experiences with puppyfind.com. My sister found her Maltese on there. She couldn't find any in our area so that is the way she chose to go. He is a wonderful, healthy dog and she got him for a good price. She spoke with the breeder many times on the phone and exchanged a lot of emails some with photos. She was worried about being scammed and the breeder was even willing to ship the puppy and let my sister pay after she received him (probably pretty rare-understandably).
It is only one experience and I am sure there are bad breeders or even scam artists who list on there but for her it was a success.
Also, under Breeder Talk (this site) they have a post with a link to an AKC Suspension List. Great Idea.
