Default Yorkie Air Travel

This summer I'll be moving home and have to take my yorkie with me on a plane (no option to travel by car). He will have to be checked as baggage, and it's a 6 hour flight. I'm curious for advice and tips on how to make the transition easier for him.

So far I've bought his crate, purchased a dryfur.com travel kit (absorbent pad, special lipped cups to prevent water from spilling). I've also been taking my yorkie to the park in his crate, and leaving treats in it so he becomes accustomed to traveling in it.

I would appreciate any additional tips for traveling on an airplane with a dog! Thanks.
