I have a pair with a guard on them, too. They do help me feel more comfortable when trimming nails. But, the very first time I trimmed Jordy's he jerked and I cut him and he bled. I remember being in tears, feeling so guilty for hurting him, but within minutes he was back to his normal self and had totally forgiven me. They are such amazing little guys.
