I am going to be getting a new yorkie puppy this weekend, also with limited registration. When I asked what limited meant, my breeder said that limited registration means that you cannot breed your yorkie and have the pups registered with AKC. I have no intention of breeding at all...I just needed to know the difference from her as to full/limited registration.
Okay....my suggestion (and I am not a breeder) is to do what some rescues do with their puppies....they withhold a fee ($250.00 maybe more) until the owner shows proof of spay/neuter. It may not deter the most determined of crooks, but it may help with some. I would have been willing to pay it and wait to get it back.
