One thing you will learn here is that there is no such thing as a "teacup" Yorkie. Some Yorkies are smaller, but there is not a recognized part of the breed called teacup.
You will have no problem keeping your Yorkie's hair short as it grows older. The shorter styles are often called "puppy cuts" or "teddy bear cuts." Lots of people here have their dogs styled that way.
Some Yorkies have silky coats, others have softer coats or cotton coats. Both hair types can be kept short like a Yorkie puppy.
