Oh those tricky stairs! We've had some slips on our wood floors as our dogs got older. Teddy also never had good traction on them because he has long front legs. After a few tumbles, we could not take the stress anymore so we had a runner installed. It is much better and they are so much more confident on the stairs (in fact, too much so as they seem to like to monkey around mid-way down).
