I understand. When my boyfriend brought home a doberman pup I was a little jealous. We also had very different ideas of raising dogs, he wanted her in the bed, I wanted her out. He let her on the couches, which drove me nuts.
Even though I felt "second best", I talked to him about it and it was never his intention. We worked together raising her, and in the end we comprimised on a lot of things.
However, him not feeding or giving her water is a huge warning flag for me.
