I say that because a dog with an open fontanel is at higher risk for hydrocephalus than one without the open fontanel. According to my vet is it also passed from the parents. I had a litter with 2 pups with open fontanels 2 years ago, both parents were spayed/neutered and the two pups were given away to pet homes for free with lots of education about signs of hydrocephalus knowing that they may need shunts placed (costly and risky) etc . Neither have had any issues but the potential was there for that to happen. That was why I was asking about age and if your breeder had informed you of this.
