That is exactly why I wanted a car seat. Pixie hates a carrier so every time we went to the vet I would put her in the carrier and she would go nuts jumping hitting her head on the top of the carrier and crying. So I would put her in my lap................BAD IDEA bc she started getting use to it so I went and bought a cheap car booster seat from pet co and started using it. The first few times she cried but she got better and I would strap Daisy in the back with her. So now I am thinking if I got a large one for the back seat I could get them use to it before our 14 hr drive to SC in the fall. We usually stop halfway and get a hotel room. It is a lot of driving but if they both can be next to each other and they can see they will do fine.
Daisy has been traveling with us for years and does fine. I was more concerned about Pixie.
So I am guilty as charged for letting Pixie in my lap. No more bc I think if there were an accident the air bag could kill her and I said to myself I have to seat belt her in for her safety and she will get use to it. She already has we started taking short drives with her in her car seat. Within 1 week she was fine
