Honestly, it doesn't sound like the black dog was doing anything extremely wrong? Yeah, it's rude of the owner to allow the flexi lead to extend to another person without asking but if the dog was being friendly and not aggressive, I don't see the big deal but maybe that's just me. Me and Jackson are always up for meeting new friends, both doggy and people, and I would never let Jackson go lunging at another dog (unless the dog was like attacking HIM or me). I'm not saying this to be mean, as I understand it's not really responsible to let your dog approach someone w/o asking, but I would never tell someone "No! I don't wanna socialize with you!" And personally, I don't think any dog should be called straight up an ugly mutt. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder... I find a lot of those mutts to be the best dogs out there.
