Thumbs up Give it up for Buddy/training going great.

As some of you know I hired a trainer for Buddy. I thought I understood
guarding issues, which I did but the trainer just took me a bit farther
in understanding why it's happening. Since we can't train not to guard but to
think why he does so and prevent it in the first place, things are
just so much more relaxing for both of us. So, we started on another
issue he has, big dogs. After 5 yrs of wanting a piece of every big
dog he sees( out of fear based) he walked passed three over the weekend without even
a growl and actually made friends with two sister's who he's been fearful
of for several years. He has pulled me like a sled for years.
I tried everything but maybe it's my attitude or his that somehow
changed with the proper guidance but we are walking side by side
now daily and enjoying every minute of it. I always have to be aware
of larger dogs approaching and walk on the oppisite side but he does
not do "His Thing" as much so we are both learning.
Two more private classes and I plan on joining her sessions with other
dogs at her facility. Buddy loves to work and train so train he will do.
I am so pleased with our progress I wanted to share.
