I would kick her out the house. Abuse to any dog is wrong, but it's even worse when they are so small. Throwing them, kicking them or hitting them could result in broken bones. I truly believe that their bodies are so small and fragile and doing something like that could injure them badly. And on top of it all he is a rescue and I'm sure he has issues no one is even aware of and that's one step forward and 5 steps backwards.
Good on you for protecting him the way you did and you have every right to feel the way you do. They can't speak for themselves and they need someone like you looking out for them.
