Correct, my maltipoo, baxter has trachea issues. So, I'd use the harness for the malti as well. As far as taking the pup outside, unless you have a fenced in area already that you are positive no foreign dogs have been in, I'd forego that. Parvo contamination can remain for what seems like forever and you cannot control the dogs that impinge on your yard without a fence. A guy down the street from us had to post a sign on his property that he has parvo on his yard so everyone steers clear....hmmm, come to think of it that would be a really great way to keep people from letting their dogs poop on your lawn... excuse me while I go dig up that big magic marker....
