Confused Help Decide What Type Of Flooring To Choose

I need advice! I have just got through adding a room in my basement for my son's office, den, or play room. We decided to put down tile with radiant heat under it. So far I am in love with the heated floors. They are so warm, and all of my babies seem to really love it down there. Now I am wanting to replace my Carpet upstairs with something more child and puppy friendly. I have thought about using the tile up here too, but I'm not sure it would look good through out my house, and it is very heavy. I have thought about hardwood floors, but they scratch easy and I'm not sure the radiant heat would work well with them. I have thought about linenolum, but I do not know how pet/kid friendly it is but it is compatiable with the radiant heated floors. I have checked into vinyl too. I have been told that it is very forgiving and kid/pet friendly. I am not for sure how great it would work with the heated flooring system. So if anyone has any experience with this, please give me the good, bad, and ugly. I want to make the right decision for all of my babies! I will try to attach pictures of my sons room for an ideal about the tile I have mentioned.
