All 3 of my dogs willingly let me brush their teeth. I buy them flavoured dog toothpaste, and start out slow using a small cat toothbrush. The first couple of times I "brushed their teeth", I didn't really brush them, I just let them lick the toothpaste off the toothbrush. Once they seemed comfortable with that, I started to kinda edge the toothbrush into the side of their mouth and let them chew on it. After they seemed comfortable with that, I'd slowly start to brush. I'd say it took about 1.5-2 weeks of taking it slow, then I could really give them a toothbrushin'. |
