The problem with this bill is not that it was voted against...it wasn't voted on at all but rather was allowed to die in committee. The Mississippi Senate voted nearly unanimous to pass the bill but the farmers' lobbyists got to the House, apparently.
This comes after a defeat last year of a similar bill. This time, it was narrowly worded to apply only to the abuse of cats and dogs.
The one person to 'go after' would be the chairman of the Agriculture Committee, which is where the bill was sent to after passage by the Senate. Here is a list of the members of that committee....
