. Sophie once unsnapped the plastic clasp of a similar one while lunging at a squirrel when on a walk, so be sure it's a very tight clasp. As for the heat, I guess it would depend how far you walk and how long you leave it on when it's hot outside but I think it would be fine under normal circumstances.
