Were the BATs done in house? It looks like it because they can only read "above 30." so it could be any number over 30 (31, 50, 100, 134, 387, etc. etc.). If it was sent to an outside lab and is consistently around 30, it is extremely likely that it is not a shunt and spaying (while using the right protocol) should be fine. Your vet can consult an internist to get their spay suggestions, etc.
