My family doesn't think I'm crazy for spending the money on the dog, since they all have pure breeds as well. However, they DO think I'm crazy for all of the treatment she gets. They think I treat her "like a human". I try to explain to them that I'm a 31 year old woman who cannot have children so she IS my child. She has her own bedroom that I'm working on for when she gets more independent and wants her own space. LOL My friends think I'm absolute nuts! Money has no limit when it comes to taking care of my little Lucy!!! I'd have paid 10x more than I did for her if I had to do it over again. Don't let anyone discourage you! Like you said, you wouldn't spend 3k on a snowmobile or of the like. Different strokes for different folks!
