So glad he's on the road to recovery now. We have three Yorkies and my oldest two have each had Pancreatitis twice. Yogi my 6 years old just got over a severe case of this 8 weeks ago. I have all of them on a diet now of browned ground round, that I rinse with hot water to remove any fat residue, then I add cooked brown rice, that I actually "overcook" and carrots. They have all done very well on this. My vet said that this is an adequate diet for them for life. Its a little pain in the rear to have on hand at all times, but I will say I don't ever want to see them go through this again. I really never knew what caused it the first few times, but the last episode, I changed their food because Yogi was gaining weight on the previous one...some of these little guys have really sensitive systems and it doesn't seem to take much to upset their GI tracts. I hope little Barney continues to progress!
