Hi everyone! So we have had our dog Deegan for a little over two years and he is a really great dog. He is usually pretty good around other dogs, though every once and a while he snaps. For a while we have been talking about bringing another dog into our home. Well.....yesterday we went by a shelter and rescued an adorable pekingese/corgi mix(they aren't 100% sure on that of course) Her name is Ponyo. She is a 18 month- 2 year beautiful, sweet, healthy girl.

She is very submissive, which we thought would be a compliment to Deegan. However, things have been pretty rocky the last day and half. I know it will take them a while to get acclimated, but Deegan is flipping out on her a lot! He just starts growling and lunges at her. She is really good about backing away most of the time, but sometimes she starts back at him, barking as well. It is really hard. I know that yorkies get very jealous, and I am sure that this is most of it, but I am just looking for any advice or suggestions that anyone can offer. I really don't want to take her back, and the shelter said to give it at least two weeks for them to get used to each other. Help!!!!!!!!
