I feed Maximo baby sweet peas every day for the same reason -- and I too use frozen/salt free, warmed up in the microwave, then cooled with water; 1 teaspoon with lunch and dinner.

Green beans are much better -- far fewer carbs/natural sugars. I need to switch.
