I totally understand. However, I tried for months to find a Yorkie through rescue. AND when I found them, I never got an email back!!! I tried 4 times! I think sometimes rescues make it impossible for a person to get a dog. Atleast that was MY experience. I understand there is a process you have to go through, but my goodness. I dont think I enabled a byb because I got Baxter off CL. I believe I gave a puppy a good home.
Some people will never change, there will always be irresponsible people breeding their dogs. None of us are going to stop stupidity. I would never spend a 1000 dollars on a dog off craigslist. I got Baxter for only paying the owner back for his vet bills. I think people just need to use their brain.
That is why I believe in case by case. This dog might have been from a puppy mill, or he might have been from someone that simply couldnt take care of him anymore. You see all kinds on CL. The important thing is to find out & then make the decision. Obviously a person "selling" a dog on CL is no good.
