I don't know if this will be helpful at all, but I stumbled across something on flickr one day. This photographer has standard poodles, and her photos are gorgeous, whether they are of her "boyz" or other general things. I love all of her dog photos, but her other ones are beautiful, as well. For a general idea of her work, you can see Karen's Favorites. I enjoyed seeing all the pictures of her "boyz" too. They're not yorkies, but you can apply some of these ideas if you want for general dog photography. I just saw this today. I hope Brownie's birthday was wonderful.
